Description

BACKGROUND STORY AND SPECIES DETAILS

The New moon dragon, also known as the new moon or โ€œBhjar-Kurr Ryuraโ€ (Dragon of the obscure night) on the dragon language is one of the three kinds of โ€œselenicโ€ dragons. They are referred as such because they were related to three moon phases. The other two are the crescent moon dragon, โ€œArk-une-Xzhar Ryuraโ€ (Dragon of the blade moon) and the Full moon dragon โ€œVar-Wiet Ryuraโ€ (Dragon of the silver sky). The main coloration of each selenic dragon, along with its distinctive marks, represent a distinctive moon phase.

Their way to use magic is similar to the first methods used by the ancient dragons who first wielded the primal orbs. Because of this, they are not in complete control of their magical abilities. Their instincts are the ones that summon the magical energies for their needs, without needing to say a word or gesture. As said before, this doesn't allow them to have a complete accurate control of what they want to do, but this will take for surprise any kind of enemy.

...This background looks TERRIBLE, I'm sorry, but I don't know how else to put it. I know Razor-Zyrak said it's perfect, but I'm sorry. >< I don't know if you just drew crazy 8s with the shading tool, or actually had a plan. Even the dragon's shadow is uneven and messy. It appears that you neglected to match the shading style of the dragon and the dragon's tail. On the right, I can't identify what that patch of muscle is. Is it a wing muscle? If so, then it doesn't look much like the wing muscle to the left, which kind of makes the head looks like it's too far to the left.

Good news: the detail with the head's shape is very original. Good details with the muscles and wings.
